Ways to make money as a teen — A legit job or a freelance job

Once you’ve become a teen, you’ve gained your independence. And with independence comes wants and needs. But your parents aren’t willing to get what you want and need. So then what are you waiting for! Take on the responsibility to make income on your own! And don’t worry I’ll help you find some ways to make some sweet cash!

Legit Jobs — Actual physical jobs

  1. McDonalds— McDonalds is a fast food service that has been running for years now, so you’ve either heard of it or had a meal there. Anyway, you need to be at least 14 years old in order to work at McDonalds, although ages may differ by state or employment roles. How much profit do you make? Around $8 an hour but it may vary due to different circumstances. So with that being said, head on over to the McDonalds application website and apply for a job now!
  2. Gap — Gap is a store that sells clothes for women, men, teens, children, and more. In order to work at Gap you must be 16 years old. You get paid approximately $9 dollars an hour to work at Gap. Now go get an application to Gap if you’re interested!
  3. Target — Target is a department store that sells apparel, food and beverages, home décor, and many other products. In order to work at Target you must be at least 16 years old. You get paid around $15 dollars an hour. So if you’re interested in working at Target, apply now!

Freelance Jobs — Jobs that you do on your own management

  1. Upwork — Upwork is a website where you can be hired to do anything! You just look for work that you can successfully do, and apply for it, then do the task, and get paid. Whether it be writing, voice acting, or art, you can find it on Upwork! So go to upwork.com to get started today!
  2. Recycling — This next job is recycling, and it’s a very easy job! If you live in California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Iowa, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, New York, Oregon or Vermont, and you enjoy drinking water, soda, etc. This job is for you! Basically, you go to a local store where bottle machines are open, and you put plastic, glass, or can bottles inside and you cash it out for money. Each bottle is worth about 5 cents or so, but don’t worry! It adds up if you use a lot of bottles and have patience!
  3. Babysitting/Pet sitting — If you have a neighbor, family member, or acquaintance, who has a child or a pet, you could possibly ask them if they’d like you to babysit their child or petsit their pet! In this job you need to know how to take care of a pet or take care of a child. So if you have prior experience with a pet or child this job is for you! How much you get paid in this job varies because you need to negotiate with the person who’s paying you. Hopefully this job is for you!
